Information Regarding CLA Exam
To take the CLA exam one must have satisfied a number of eligibility requirements set forth by NALA (http://www.nala.org/cert.htm). The exam is a two-day comprehensive exam based on US federal law and procedure. Examination sessions are available three times a year: March/April (depending on the holiday schedule); July and December.
The major CLA knowledge domains are:
* Communications, Human Relations and Interviewing Techniques
* Ethics
* Legal Research
* Judgment & Analytical Ability
* Substantive Law
In order to pass the entire exam, you must pass all of the main sections with a score of 70% or higher on each.
